Oil & gas

In terms of Oil & Gas energy we work across distinct stages within the process:

  • Upstream activities

    • Focusing on exploration and production. This section comprises of mapping the reservoir and field activities through to extraction.

      Our clients in this sector are based all over the globe. The sector’s needs are often complex and require searches for ideal candidates who have the ability to relocate as the pool is relatively small and globally dispersed.

  • Midstream activities

    • Oil, gas and refinery product transportation is a complex activity. Historically most pipeline and terminal activities were mainly holding and blending operations, however with the ability to transport gas as a liquid (GTL) or over long distances, the engineering alone has changed significantly. Multi-product pipelines are common and these need to be designed and built often across hostile territory.

      Our clients range from the pipeline, pump and turbine manufacturers to providers of internal phase flow software who use us to recruit across disciplines.

  • Downstream activities

    • From refining and distillation of crude oil, to transport onwards until segmentation of the products, be they for power / energy or chemical uses. Refineries are spread all over the world, they are mostly brownfield, although several major 400000 BPD new refineries are being built area the Far East and Middle East. Smaller refineries are often older and can be difficult to manage profitably.

      The engineers and technologists that we recruit are essential to the sustainable and optimal running of these major investments.

  • Support roles

    • Across the entire oil & gas domain, we recruit process operations and management staff in addition to technology lead roles such as control and automation specialists, refinery and process economics technologists

      On the design and engineering front, we recruit FEED experts, project management, delivery engineers and also specialist consultants who are essential to the completion of successful projects. We have a particular interest in refinery processes, working with process licensing, mechanical equipment, technology and software providers, specialist catalysts on both technical and commercial roles.

Distribution expertise ranges from recruitment of specialists in high voltage distribution, conventional and renewable power right down to the household smart grid technology. At the smart grid level we have recruited many mid to high level development specialists and managers.

The complexity of nuclear power and our ultimate need to renew energy production across the globe drives our interests in this area.

Our consultants recruit across the complete spectrum; from the sales engineers, health & safety specialists through to engineers and technologists who design the methods by which the generated electricity is fed into the grid i.e. statcoms.
